Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction Mamuka Mdinaradze said that Maia Tskitishvili's resignation was not unexpected, as she had just been waiting for the right time to announce the already-made decision.

Mdinaradze thanked Tskitishvili for her years-long service.

To a report.ge journalist's question if Tskitishvili plans to stay in the Georgian Dream party, Mdinaradze responded that she has always been an avid supporter of the Georgian Dream, and he believes that this will never change.

Premier-designate Irakli Gharibashvili has unveiled a new Cabinet, with two changes introduced to it: Juansher Burchuladze will take the post of defense minister, and deputy minister Irakli Karseladze will replace infrastructure Minister Maia Tskitishvili.

Mrs. Tskitishvili said she gave up the post at her request. She thanked PM-designate Gharibashvili, former PM Gakharia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and representatives of different media outlets.
