Parliamentary majority member Guram Macharashvili says that the government is not willing to see Saakashvili's health condition deteriorate.
In Macharashvili's words, the ex-president's hunger strike does not serve any political purpose.
''We cannot figure out what he wants. Saakashvili must end the hunger strike and eat. The food is good there. What is he protesting against?'' Macharashvili declared.
Mikheil Saakashvili was detained on 1 October.
He declared a hunger strike 26 days ago.
