Russia's military exercises in Georgia violate norms of international law: EU

Military exercises in the territory of a sovereign state without the consent of this state breach norms of international law and principles provided for in the UN Charter, Helsinki Final Act, and the Charter of Paris, the statement by the EU Mission to the OSCE reads.

According to the Press Office of the Foreign Ministry of Georgia, the EU confirms its support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders and calls upon Russia to comply with its international obligations, including those envisaged in the Ceasefire Agreement signed on 12 August 2008.

Today, at the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation, the member states' delegations condemned Russia's Caucasus 2020 military exercises and supported Georgia.
