The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has posted information on the meeting between Chairperson of the Democratic Movement-United Georgia party Nino Burjanadze and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko.
"Current Russian-Georgian relations and their future prospects have been discussed. The Russian party confirmed its interest in normalization of its relations with Georgia, including the opportunity to resume air flights between the two countries. It is significant that Tbilisi shows more responsible approach to relations with Russia.
In discussing the existing situation in Georgia, it was underscored that the ongoing developments there are being viewed in Moscow as the internal affairs of this country of Transcaucasia. Russia is refraining from meddling into domestic political developments of other countries. We are interested in establishment of peace and stability in Georgia and the entire Transcaucasia," reads information on the website of Ministry.
