The President of Georgia held a face-to-face meeting with the President of North Macedonia in an expanded format.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the security situation in the region, the economic and social difficulties caused by the pandemic, and the ongoing vaccination process.
The President of Georgia also informed the President of North Macedonia about the current political situation in Georgia and the agreement reached by the mediation of the EU to overcome the crisis.
Salome Zurabishvili spoke about the dire humanitarian situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, kidnappings, and illegal detention, and Zaza Gakheladze.
The meeting focused on the NATO summit scheduled for June 14, the process of Georgia's integration into NATO and the European Union, and the importance of supporting North Macedonia in this regard.
The sides also discussed the current developments in the region and Ukraine, noting that de-escalation requires the more active involvement of the international community, NATO, and the EU in a non-confrontational manner.
The President of Georgia invited the President of North Macedonia to Georgia.
