Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has assessed the local self-government elections, saying that the Georgian people demonstrated they want peace and stability in the country.
In Zurabishvili's words, the participation of small parties was particularly noticeable in these elections, with this being paramount for political pluralism.
According to Zurabishvili, despite the pandemic, the elections have been held in a peaceful atmosphere, with COVID regulations observed at polling stations.
The president also emphasized the negative factor _ the absence of focus on local self-government issues.
''I also note that a multi-party system has been formed, with small parties emerging in the city assembly. However, it is recommended that small parties be given more chances and more resources as de-polarisation can be defeated with their help, with the help of third forces,'' Zurabishvili stressed.
