The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, responds to the possible arrival of the third President, Mikheil Saakashvili in Georgia and releases a statement.

According to Salome Zurabishvili, the country needs a peaceful situation more than anything for the elections to be held in an open, fair, and free environment on October 2.

"This issue disrupts the pre-election environment, and tenses and tired society. Whoever replicates this topic does not think about the country or fair elections but bets, on October 3, on destabilization. Comments should not come from the party today but from state agencies that are obliged to show the public what is a lie and the truth and appease them. Ridicule is not the answer when people question the effectiveness of state structures in the country. It is the responsibility of the government to prevent all attempts and destabilization in the run-up to the elections," said the President of Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili released a video address where he stated that he was in Batumi.

Before publishing the video, Saakashvili wrote on the social network that he was already in Georgia.

As report.ge was told in the MIA, Saakashvili has not crossed the Georgian border.
