Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has sent a happy birthday letter to Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev. The letter reads as follows:
It is a great pleasure for me to wish you a happy birthday on the Georgian people's and my behalf.
Today, we have an excellent opportunity to remember our countries' centuries-long friendship. Our partnerships are built on honesty and cooperation and aim at resolving different issues.
I am deeply sorry that you have to celebrate your birthday amidst the pandemic, but we can already see the light at the end of the tunnel. Vaccines are already administered worldwide in this global crisis, and against this backdrop, we will continue our cooperation.
I want to take this opportunity to stress the importance of peace in our region. Once again, I salute the achievement of peace, which is critical for the entire region, mutual development, progress, and stability.
I do believe that the world will overcome the crisis thanks to the solidarity and will emerge more powerful than in the past. After the pandemic, we are expecting you in Georgia.
Mr. President, allow me to wish you and your family health, unlimited energy, and prosperity once again.
Send my kind regards to Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva."
