The State Security Service has responded to the verdict on holding Vazha Gaprindashvili in custody by the so-called court.
"The State Security Service is aware of the released information on their refusal to free the illegally detained Georgian citizen Vazha Gaprindashvili. For the purposes of specifying the information, the hotline operating via the EUMM has been activated," The State Security Service says.
The so-called Akhalgori Court has left Dr. Vazha Gaprindashvili in custody.
Renowned Georgian doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili has been held in custody since Nov 9.
The de facto government charged Gaprindashvili with an illegal entry of the region; however, the doctor refuses to plead guilty and asserts that he is in the territory of Georgia.
