Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze calls upon citizens to stay at home. In his words, stringent measures were necessary to sustain as insubstantial harm as possible.
"The life we are leading now is totally extraordinary for residents of Tbilisi; however, this is the only option, and implementation of these measures is a must. I do thank those citizens who have complied with our curfew.
Some violations also occur, but they are always responded adequately. I reiterate there is a stark difference between fighting against a visible and invisible enemy.
Unfortunately, this invisible enemy has claimed lots of lives worldwide. We are aware of the situation in European countries; however, fortunately, the situation is stabilizing there with time. Strong and stringent measures were, therefore, necessary to sustain as insubstantial harm as possible.
Once again, I call on you to stay at home, and unless urgent necessity emerges, avoid going out. Be patient, and we will see the light at the end of the tunnel," Kaladze said.
