The third round of government-opposition talks with the participation of the Diplomatic Corps is in process. The meeting takes place in Sheraton Hotel, Tbilisi.
Before the negotiations start, the Parliament Chairman, Archil Talakvadze, said that the parties were to exchange their standpoint on the multi-mandate system elections.
“The multi-mandate election system proposed in the previous talks is now to be discussed in the frames of existing mixed systems. The proposed system is not in conflict with the Constitution. Today we are to exchange arguments on the multi-mandate system and define whether we can agree on it or not. The future of the dialogue will be defined by the results of today’s meeting. I prefer to refrain from making preliminary comments taking into account that the opposition, various parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties are on the other side. The position of each of the opponents is essential. We have our own arguments to share with them”, - said Archil Talakvadze.
