"The government will respond to all instances of law violations proportionally and will not allow them to cross a line," Mamuka Mdinaradze, a Georgian Dream leader, said.
In Mdinaradze's words, left-wing parties headed for the CEC building after failing to stage a rally elsewhere.
"Rally participants also defied our foreign partners' appeals for peaceful demonstrations, and they attempted to break into the CEC building. Additionally, they pelted stones and other items on police officers," Mdinaradze said, adding that he calls on rally participants to follow regulations and hold peaceful demonstrations.
Riot police have used water cannons to disperse protesters during a rally outside the CEC building.
