Labour party leader Giorgi Gugava has responded to the government's statement released today.
"They have stolen seven billion (which we and the future generations will have to pay) borrowed to fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
They let Russian tourists have a nice time in Ajara the entire summer while enforcing a two-week quarantine for our citizens," Giorgi Gugava said. He also added that they even failed to provide socially disadvantaged citizens with face masks and disinfectant sprays and liquid.
"And they are now blaming the uncontrolled spread of the coronavirus on the opposition," Giorgi Gugava wrote on social media.
Deputy Prime Minister said today after the completion of the Coordination Council meeting that the opposition is to be blamed for the dissemination of the virus that has spiraled out of control.
