Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said that the new Omicron variant may result in changing the status of the fully vaccinated throughout the world.
In the minister's words, European countries are stiffening COVID regulations, with some of them enforcing full lockdowns, and this may result in Georgia following their lead.
''In Georgia, we have a COVID passport that is more loyal than those in other countries, with our approach to the COVID green pass also being milder, but we have already faced a serious challenge in this regard _ the new strain, which must be taken into account in today's epidemiological situation,'' Ekaterine Tikaradze stressed.
