U.S. Senate reiterated its firm and unwavering support for Georgia

"The US Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, approved by the US Senate, once again expressed the strong and unwavering support for Georgia," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani, wrote on the social network.

According to the Minister, the document contains strong supportive messages for Georgia's territorial integrity, Euro-Atlantic integration, and strengthening its defense capabilities.

"I welcome the approval of the US Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 by the US Senate, which once again expressed the firm and unwavering support of Georgia.

The document contains strong messages of support for Georgia's territorial integrity, Euro-Atlantic integration, and the country's defense capabilities. It addresses Black Sea security issues, highlighting Georgia 's special role in the region and the need for further US efforts to assist in both security enhancement and resilience in addressing existing threats," the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

According to him, it is noteworthy that the versions of both chambers of the National Defense Authorization Act, are identical in its assessment and without any conditionality, emphasizes the depth and strength of cooperation with its strategic partner - Georgia.

"We can say that the versions approved by both the Senate and the House of Representatives are a clear expression of the strong support for bilateral relations by the US Congress and reaffirm the close strategic partnership.

These are precisely the issues that our team discusses with its strategic partner, and we see the results of this collaboration. Unlike our opponents, who tried in vain, to show their narrow political interest in such an important document for the security of our country," Zalkaliani wrote.
