"Being a policeman - requires great physical and spiritual strength, justice, courage, efficiency," Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri stated at the event dedicated to Police Day.
As Vakhtang Gomelauri noted in his speech, it is a great honor and responsibility for him to be the Minister of Internal Affairs of the country and to serve Georgia together with the police.
He highlighted cases where freedom of speech and expression goes beyond the ethical and legal limits that police officers most often feel themselves. He addressed the police and told them that at such times he would be a defender of the honor and dignity of the police, yet, demanding and objective.
"It's hard not to know when you leave home whether you will return or not, but it is your wise choice, and I wish you all the best.
Fighting for the rule of law on a daily basis, for the protection of human life, safety, and health - requires great courage, but serving the citizens of your country, along with responsibility, is a distinct public role," said Vakhtang Gomelauri.
