Vice-speaker of Parliament: Video footage does not show him being dragged by hair

Vice-speaker of Parliament Gia Volski says that the video footage showing ex-president Saakashvili being taken to the Gldani prison hospital must have been publicized for the public to know what has actually happened.

In Volski's words, the video footage did not show Saakashvili being subject to physical assault and, as he said, no one knows that he was actually taken to Gldani prison after being deceived that he was transferred to a civilian clinic.''He might have purposefully made the public think so, and this is quite expected from him,'' Volski declared.

''The video does not show him being dragged by hair or a fistfight,'' he stressed.

Today, the penitentiary service has released video footage showing ex-president Saakashvili being taken to the Gldani prison hospital.
