"By the Interagency Coordinating Council's decision, Georgia will open the border to 5 countries," Prime Minister's Spokesman Irakli Chikovani said at a briefing at the Government Administration.
"On June 30, the European Union included Georgia in 15 safe countries and issued a recommendation to open borders. Following this recommendation, the government is holding bilateral talks with the relevant EU member states on the opening of the borders.
It is noteworthy that given the epidemiological situation in the world and on the European continent itself, several EU countries refused to open borders for citizens of foreign countries, including EU member states. When arriving in a number of countries, it is mandatory to go through a 14-day quarantine with your funds.
Georgia is observing the current global situation and is taking appropriate steps to ensure the health of our citizens," Chikovani said.
According to him, currently, out of the countries that have opened the border with Georgia, by the decision of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council, and the countries that Georgia will also open its borders to are five countries:
1. Germany
2. France
3. Latvia
4. Lithuania
5. Estonia
