The Prime Minister's report on the government program was submitted to the Parliament. The document will be submitted in writing to today's meeting of the Bureau.

According to the procedure, Irakli Gharibashvili will present the report at the plenary session by the end of June. The document covers all the activities of the executive branch.

The document notes that the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has had a significant negative impact on world development rates. The particular impact is evident in developing countries, including Georgia.

Nevertheless, in the face of pandemic and reduced economic activity, the Government of Georgia is actively working to help the country's medium- and long-term development reforms and, on the other hand, is helping the population, as well as the private sector, to overcome new challenges in the short term.

Despite the challenges, the government notes that there is progress in four key areas of the government program: foreign policy, security, conflict resolution, and human rights.

According to the report, the global pandemic and related economic recession have had a significant impact on the country's economic development. The challenge of international importance has had a direct and immediate impact on reducing tourism, which is one of the main drivers of the Georgian economy.
