Egypt's new "smart" administrative capital will be provided with high technology, Reuters writes.

The new capital is being built in the desert, 45 kilometers east of Cairo. The city covers an area of 700 square meters and is designed for the lives of 6.5 million people. It is expected to open at the end of this year.

Residents of the new city will use smart cards and apps to open doors and pay, and the city will be equipped with free Wi-Fi.

Through the mobile application, the citizen will be able to manage all the issues from a mobile phone. One mobile application will be created for the population, with the help of which they will be able to pay utility bills, notify various agencies about complaints and problems.

With the help of at least 6,000 cameras on each street, city officials will monitor traffic jams, detect theft cases, and turn on automatic alarms during emergencies.

Advanced technological systems will help reduce waste.

Most of the government buildings will be located in the new city, including 29 ministries, the government building, and the parliament. The city will also have embassies, as well as hotels, shopping malls, parks, and residential areas.
