Scientists have invented a unique, environmentally friendly plastic in China, Euronews writes.

According to the publication, biodegradable plastics are made from salmon sperm and vegetable oil. Chinese scientists have been able to combine two short strands of salmon sperm DNA and a chemical made from vegetable oil. In this case, the vegetable oil acts as a "glue."

As a result of their combination, the scientists obtained a material of soft consistency, which is a kind of hydrogel. After that, the gel is placed in molds and frozen. It helps to remove excess moisture from the plastic. The mass obtained after cooling acquires the consistency of plastic.
