German composer Ludwig van Beethoven was unable to complete the 10th Symphony because his life was not enough. The 10th Symphony of the great composer Beethoven, whose 250th anniversary will be celebrated in 2020, will be completed by artificial intelligence, starting from just a few notes that Beethoven had written in a notebook before his death in 1827. The artificial intelligence developed within the scope of this project has already begun the process of completing the 10th symphony thanks to the algorithm prepared from all the works of Beethoven and the notes left behind.

The goal of the experiment is to maintain the style that characterizes the Beethoven’s works.

The team started work several months ago. As musicians say, the initial version produced by the artificial intelligence sounded mechanical. They received the first optional version a few weeks ago. The head of the project Mathias Roder is hopeful about the experiment. The team systematically plays the works of Beethoven to make artificial intelligence catch the link between the phases and the sound style. The work will be completed by April 28, 2020.

The celebrations dedicated to the 250-th anniversary of the composer’s birthday will start in December.
