According to Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze, around 1.8 billion GEL is planned to be allocated for education in 2020.
“Next year, about 140 million GEL will be channeled into teachers’ salaries, with this resulting in teachers' increased salaries in October 2019 and a 150 GEL increase in salaries in 2020 new academic year, as well as the additional amount granted to teachers after distribution of extra hours among them. We plan a total of around 400 GEL increase in teachers' salaries,” stated the Deputy Finance Minister and added that salaries of nursery school teachers and other employees will increase by 100 GEL on average.
