20 June victim Mako Gomuri conferred victim status

The Prosecutor's Office has reportedly conferred the victim status on Mako Gumuri and few other individuals having sustained injuries on 20 June rally. The Body has released the corresponding statement with regard to this, which it being presented below:

"In relation to the developments having taken place on 20-21 June 2019 outside the building of the parliament of Georgia, within the investigation at the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, after receiving results of forensic examination and taking further investigative measures to determine a possible criminal act, Maia Gomuri, Omar Sekhniashvili and Mirza Liparteliani have been declared victims. 

Within the framework of the investigation, more than 600 people have been questioned, including law enforcers. The video footage featuring the developments outside the parliament have been studied and dates for forensic examinations have been fixed. As regards conferring the victim status on other people within the investigation, after completion of investigative activities, the corresponding decisions will be made in terms of each and every instance, with the relevant verdicts being rendered afterwards. The public will regularly be provided with the corresponding information," reads the statement. 

Mako Gomuri lost her eye on 20 June demonstration. She has not been conferred the victim status so far. Neither Omar Sekhniashvili nor Mirza Liparteliani have had this status until now.
