According to the Ministry of Health of Adjara, a 55-year-old man who died at the Medina clinic had severe concomitant diseases.
"The ambulance brigade brought the patient. He was diagnosed with: acute respiratory failure and chronic heart failure. When admitted to the clinic, the patient's general condition was critical. He was suffering from bilateral bronchopneumonia and respiratory distress syndrome. The patient got isolated and connected to breathing equipment.
The PCR test confirmed COVID-19. All appropriate measures were taken at the clinic; the treatment was carried out according to the guideline; however, the patient could not survive. He died on October 11," the Adjara Ministry of Health said.
It is the fourth case of coronavirus death in Adjara in the last 24 hours.
