The academic year at schools is set to end on June 15 despite the extension of spring holidays, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Ekaterine Dgebuadze said. In her words, if classes are not resumed after April 1, the Ministry of Education will formulate a specific plan.
"If we resume classes on April 1, no necessity of extended academic year will emerge. If the school decides to cover the program completely, it will be free to do so and plan everything within the learning plan. The school will be flexible and plan the learning process as required.
Extension of the academic year has not been planned; however, the Ministry of Education is prepared to tackle challenges," Dgebuadze declared.
