The Agency of State Care and Assistance for the (Statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking has released a statement on the recently publicized alleged sexual assault against the minor in Shida Kartli.
''In connection with the information on alleged sexual abuse against the minor, in view of her best interests and rights, as well as following the request of the teenager's family, due to the delicacy of the issue, the agency requests that different media outlets consider personal information and confidentiality issues, the inviolability of personal life, and the issue of possible retraumatizing the underage individual in covering the story,'' the statement reads.
