"It is gradually becoming clear that Omicron is characterized by a mild clinical course, which is very good," said Alexandre Goginava, an infectious disease specialist at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital.
According to him, preventive measures should be taken against the new strain.
"We still need to take precautionary measures, as risk groups may be aggravated even if they are infected with Omicron. It should be prevented through vaccination," Goginava said.
