"The state should have shown more diligence and effort and use all possible means to get the vaccine," Alexandre Goginava, an infectious disease specialist at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, told Report.ge.
Goginava noted that the country has been preparing for the vaccine for a very long time, and there should not be a problem in meeting the criteria.
"The official structures need to show more diligence and more effort because, given the current situation in the world, it is not possible to get this vaccine, with a standard request, as there are too many applicants. As for Covax's statement, I do not know this information, but we have been preparing for the vaccine for a very long time and, a defect like this should not have occurred," Alexandre Goginava said.
According to "Pfizer," at the end of February, premature shipments were made to countries that have met the criteria. Additional information about the first transfers will be announced to all participants in the coming days; data will also be published online.
