The son of Amiran Gankrelidze, Head of NCDC, is diagnosed with coronavirus. Nikoloz Gamkrelidze writes information on his social network.
“Dear friends, after having contact with coronavirus-positive persons, I and all other people in contact shifted to self-isolation regime. After having the virus symptoms, I have been considered a high-risk patient and was tested. The test proved coronavirus positive. Hence, I am placed in the Infectious Disease Hospital and started medication. Gladly, I had contacts with a minimal number of people (on Thursday 05/03 was one relatively long contact; all contacted people are identified and placed in isolation. I feel fine). Despite that the information on the patients is confidential, I decided to make it public (I have also given the right to the Hospital to make my information public) for several reasons: 1. I consider that it is not a shame to be ill; 2. I do not want this case to become a subject of various interpretations; 3. Moreover, what is most important to avoid additional panicking in the population.
I am sure, that if we reveal solidarity and feel the civil responsibility, we will overcome the challenge very soon.” – writes Nikoloz Gamkrelidze.
Reminder: At present, there are ten coronavirus cases registered in Georgia.
