An international emergency management team is created in Georgia

An international emergency management team was created in Georgia to provide the field medical service. According to the information from the Ministry of Health, the team has the function to organize emergency-type field hospital on the places of accidents to serve patients with any type of injury conditions.

“EMT” will have the function to provide services in Azerbaijan and Armenia as well.

With regards to the project, Ekaterine Tikaradze, the Health Minister and Avtandil Talakvadze, Director of Emergency Situation Coordinating Center, met with the Officials from the Research Institute of Central Government of Germany.

During the meeting, the parties have developed the action plan. The German side expressed complete support to the project.

The project is implemented with the support of Robert Kokh Institute of the Central Government of Germany, the participation of non-governmental organization ASB, and under the coordination of the European Office of the World Health Organization. The EMT in Georgia is coordinated by Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center LEPL of the Ministry of Health.
