An antiviral drug is expected to be available sooner than a vaccine, Alexandre Goginava, a doctor at the Isolation Unit at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, declared.
"Research is being carried out, and the prognosis is hopeful. However, specialists say that a vaccine will not be available for several months. As of antiviral drugs, ten or fifteen drugs are being examined right now, and we hope that the WHO will soon approve one of them, with this enabling us to conclude that an antiviral drug will be available earlier than a vaccine," Goginava declared.
