Archil Talakvadze responds to 100th anniversary of Georgia's Constitution

"I believe that the Constitution of Georgia will again link the past and the future of our country!" - Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Archil Talakvadze said in his Facebook post.

"One hundred years ago, on February 21, 1921, the Constitutional Assembly of Georgia, against the backdrop of the threat of Soviet occupation, adopted the first Constitution, one of the most progressive legal documents of its time.

The current version of Georgia's Constitution is based on the historical and legal heritage of the First Republic's Constitution and continues the old tradition of the Georgian constitutionalism," Archil Talakvadze stated.

Georgia celebrates the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution today.
