An armed man in his late fifties has broken into the Batumi and Lazeti Eparchy residence, according to deacon Ioane Gorelishvili.
In the deacon's words, the incident occurred at around 4 p.m yesterday. The man was armed with a knife.
''This person was so intoxicated that he was even unable to say what he wanted. He was taken to the police station. Some say he aimed to wound the bishop, but this is not true. He was just drunk. Law enforcers will determine his identity,'' the deacon said.
