Gamkrelidze explained that the country is working on direct procurement with several companies.
According to him, Georgia is cooperating with the Covax platform and will purchase billions of doses of various vaccines by 2021.
"Good payment terms were made with the Covax platform. We had paid the 4.5 million down payment, a little bit more, but we paid on the condition that we will choose the vaccine. Most likely, it will be somewhere in March-April. But, at the same time, we are also working on direct procurement, in addition to the Covax Platform with several other companies. We also had a big teleconference on Friday with direct purchases of Astra Zeneka and the Oxford vaccine," Gamkrelidze said.
According to him, Georgian embassies are also involved in the process.
