Two people got injured in a car accident on Rustaveli Street in Poti. According to the spread information, the pedestrians were hit by an Opel car.
The car collided with pedestrians while crossing the street. The injured woman and teenager were taken to Poti hospital by ambulance. The woman has a head injury, and the teenager has minor injuries.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation into the incident launched under Article 276, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. It means the violation of traffic safety or the rule of operation of a vehicle, which has caused less severe damage to health. The crime is punishable by a fine or house arrest for a term of six months to two years, or imprisonment for a term of up to three years.
