Georgia has 233 confirmed cases of coronavirus infected people, though the web page created by the government of Georgia reads the number of 236. The Clinical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital, Marina Ezugbaia, explains the difference by the fact that three patients are confirmed COVID-19 infected in other countries but taking treatment in Georgia.

“Three out of 236 reported cases are imported from the south and one from Turkey. That means that the cases are confirmed in those countries. Consequently, these three cases are reviewed separately. They are added to our hospitals in number but registered in other countries in the database of the World Health Organization.” – says Ezugbaia.

She says it is the first time that the cases registered in other countries come to Georgia for treatment. In addition, two more new coronavirus cases are confirmed in Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital.

According to the last information, 236 cases of COVID-19 infections are confirmed, fifty-four patients have recovered, and three have died.

Three hundred and seventy-three in-patients are under medical supervision and 4,672 in quarantine.
