The condition of the 23-year-old girl, hospitalized because of the burns received as a result of gasoline, is serious.
As Guga Kashibadze, the head of the Khechinashvili University Hospital Burn Centre told report.ge, a young woman has 37% body burns.
"She was brought in at dawn and placed in the resuscitation department of the burn center. She has thermal burns on 37% of the body, second-third degree. Both of the thighs and both shins are damaged. She was injured by a gasoline flame and is in a state of burn shock," Guga Kashibadze said.
A young man has been arrested in Tbilisi on charges of attempted premeditated murder.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainee confessed to the crime.
The investigation launched under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 7 to 15 years in prison.
