Georgia has detected 373 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection, and the number of infected reached 270,510, StopCov.ge reports.

A total of 542 people recovered, with the total number hitting 264,589.

The virus claimed 14 lives in the past 24 hours, and the number of the death toll equaled 3,499.

Georgia conducted 34,933 tests in the past 24 hours, including fast antigen tests equaling 23,966 and PCR tests – 10,967.

Test positivity rates are as follows:

Daily – 1.07%

Over the past 14 days – 2.07%,

Over the past seven days – 1.76%

Georgia observed the first case of the novel coronavirus infection on February 26, 2020.

The World Health Organization declared the pandemic on March 11.

The pneumonia-causing infection outbreak began in China in December 2019.

On January 21, 2020, China confirmed the virus's human-to-human transmission and declared a quarantine in its two cities.
