Deacon Giorgi Mamaladze received communion from father Andria Saria, at the 8th Penitentiary. According to the clergyman, the Deacon's health is in serious condition.
Father Andria Saria thinks that the church, alongside with the government sacrificed Mamaladze.
"He needs serious treatment. The church should take care of him, especially when they stated that they care for every member of the church, Giorgi is not an enemy of the church; he never makes statements that are anti-Christian. He asked me to pray for him to get stronger, first and foremost it is important for his health," father Andria said after meeting Giorgi Mamaladze.
Deacon Mamaladze was convicted in relation to the so-called cyanide case.
Mamaladze himself does not plead guilty.
The President of Georgia did not pardon Deacon Giorgi Mamaladze.
Giorgi Mamaladze was starving in prison. According to Mikheil Ramishvili, the lawyer of the accused Deacon Mamaladze was going to starve until meeting the Public Defender. After meeting her convicted Deacon, stopped the hunger strike.
