"Disinfection is taking place at every school in Georgia," Ekaterine Dgebuadze, the Deputy Minister of Education, told reporters.

According to Dgebuadze, the Ministry of Education cooperates with the Ministry of Health and receives recommendations from the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

"Cleaning must take place using wet methods and also by letting fresh air into the building. These are some of the necessary instructions. There are specific instructions, even regarding the equipment and products used in the cleaning process. At this point, all schools will undergo a disinfection process, and follow the instruction of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health after students return from their holidays," Dgebuadze said.

According to her, private schools should carry out disinfection procedures as well.

Starting from today, due to coronavirus, spring holidays will last until March 16 at schools and kindergartens. The Interagency Coordination Council decided on the changes on February 29.

Three cases of coronavirus infection confirmed in Georgia. According to Gamkrelidze, the condition of all three patients is satisfactory.
