The government of Georgia discusses the option of resuming domestic flights; international flights resumption is not planned at this stage. Natia Mezvrishvili, Head of the government administration, has made this statement.
As for the lifting lockdown of Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, and Batumi, the Head of the government administration says, that the discussions on this issue is planned for the next week and it mostly depends on the epidemiologic situation development.
“We realize the importance of flights resumption in general and, in particular, for tourism. The Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development to develop a tourism restoration plan. We will have more details about it next week. As for the lifting the lockdown of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi and Batumi, it mostly depends on the epidemiologic situation, which, in turn, depends on many things. The incident that took place in Bolnisi yesterday, meaning disobedience, non-compliance with the recommendations significantly changes the picture. That is why it is very important to follow the introduced rules and recommendations” – said Natia Mezvrishvili.
