The Embassy of Georgia in Turkey has issued a statement, which is presented below: 

"We are warning Georgian citizens that following the decision of the Turkish side, from 1 July of the current year, the existing benefits will no longer be available to those who failed to leave Turkey due to the COVID-19 restrictions and have illegally lived in the country since 29 March of the current year. 

In view of the mentioned above, Georgian citizens who could not have left the country due to the existing restrictions and can no longer legally live here shall leave via the Sarpi checkpoint not later than 30 June 2020. If citizens leave the country on 1 July, they will prove unable to take advantage of the existing benefits; moreover, for late departure, they will be imposed fines provided for by the law when crossing the border," the statement reads.
