The situation in the Abastumani forest is under control. Thermal drones monitored the hot spots and 25 firefighters-rescuers during the nighttime, reports the Emergency Management Service (EMS).
A field office EMS is organized in the Adigeni Municipality, Daba Abastumani. The bushfire and the situation, in general, are currently under control. The firefighting works continued in an uninterrupted regime on June 13.
“In the morning, the firefighting works resumed. The EMS received information about the fire through the Public Safety Management Center hotline 112 on June 13, at 2 p.m. Sixty-five firemen from the Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions were mobilized in the place. Two helicopters of the Border Security Police accomplished 13 flights spilling 26 tones water over the fire hotspots.” – the report reads.
