An international Fitch rating agency has left Georgia's sovereign credit rating unchanged as it was at the BB level.

In October-November 2020, Fitch downgraded Armenia's credit rating from 'BB-' to 'B +', while for Slovakia, Belarus, and Latvia, it downgraded the outlook.

"Amidst the pandemic and global uncertainty, the unchanged rating and prospects indicate the confidence in Georgia's economic policy and macroeconomic environment," Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

Under the Fitch project, Georgia's economy grows by 4.3% in 2021 and by 5.8% in 2022.

The agency report says Georgia's economic recovery will be higher than the average rate of countries in the 'BB' category.
