“The decision of five hospitals to accept patients was made at the meeting with the Prime Minister,” – said Tengiz Tsertsvadze, the Head of Infectious Disease Hospital.
Tsertsvadze, during the government briefing held after the meeting, said that University hospital, number 8 hospital, Republic hospital, and Gori hospital would be added to Infection Disease hospital to accept patients.
“The quarantined persons will be transferred to other places, and the Republic hospital will be prepared to accept patients, as well as Gori hospital with its 140 places, and Bochorishvili hospital with 11 places” – Tsertsvaze said.
Based on his information, the total capacity of these hospitals is 420; these clinics will be emptied to accept patients.
“It is in response to those people who say that we do not have enough resources. Today we have thirty patients. It is already a month and a half that Georgia started to accept patients. I doubt that the 420 places will be filled in two days. It is incredible, even in the case of the worst scenario. Minimum of three weeks these 420 places will be enough. The epidemic might pass so that there would not be a need in these 420 places,” – Tsertsvadze said.
Reminder: Thirty people are confirmed coronavirus diagnosis. One patient is cured. Three hundred and eighteen people are placed in the quarantine regime, and fifty-four are placed in the hospital under the observation.
