“Free media without restrictions” – the slogan of the act of protest conducted by media representatives and journalists on the central square of Kutaisi. They protested the developments in Adjara Public TV and Radio.
Journalists declared that the newly appointed director fires the professional, impartial producers.
“The process developed in Adjara TV is alarming. The journalists of the channel openly speak that the newly appointed director, Giorgi Kokhreidze, fires producers who are impartial and professionals. Consequent from the above, we are here to express our solidarity with the Adjara TV journalists and call on the TV management to stop firing people based on their political views”, - told Irakli Vachiberidze to Report.ge.
In parallel, the acts in support of the News team are conducted by Adjara Public TV, journalists of various media companies, non-governmental organizations, and civil society representatives. The acts in support of Adjara TV journalists are also planned in Kutaisi and Tbilisi.
