Georgia has detected 535 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection, and the number of infected reached 265,200, StopCov.ge reports.

A total of 757 people recovered, with the total number hitting 257,441.

The virus claimed seven lives in the past 24 hours, and the number of the death toll equaled 3,343.

Georgia conducted 27,187 tests in the past 24 hours, including fast antigen tests equaling 18,381 and PCR tests – 8,806.

Test positivity rates are as follows:

Daily – 1.97%,

Over the past 14 days – 3.2%,

Over the past seven days – 2.75%.

A total of 226 people are in quarantine, while 2,004 are in hospital. A total of 277 people are in clinical hotels.

Georgia observed the first case of the novel coronavirus infection on February 26, 2020.

The pneumonia-causing infection outbreak began in China in December 2019.
