Georgia ranks first in the world with the number of new coronavirus cases per 100 000. The American New York Times reports the information about the numbers.

According to the American publication, the number of new infections in Georgia during the last seven days is on average 3,579.1, which means 95.9 new cases per 100,000 of the population. This number is calculated as the ratio of the population of the country over the last seven days to the arithmetic mean number of new cases.

Georgia is ahead of all three countries in the region in terms of the last seven days' dynamics.

After Georgia, the worst situation is in Luxembourg. Montenegro is in 3rd place, Serbia in 4th place, followed by Andorra, Slovakia, Austria, Croatia, and others.
