NCDC of Georgia says that the country has so far registered 9,098 HIV infections, and out of the infected, 6,795 are male and 2,294 female citizens. The majority of them are 29-39. HIV has developed into AIDS in 4,441 of them, with 1,889 patients dying. 

Per the 11 Nov data, 5,709 are under antiretroviral therapy, with 43 being children. 

Modes of transmission of registered cases are as follows: narcotic drug injections _ 35.1 % (3,187); heterosexual intercourse _ 50.1 % (4,557); homosexual intercourse _12.6 % (1,141); vertical transmission _ 1.2 % (113); blood transfusion 0.5 % (41); unknown _ 0.5 % (50). 

Registered HIV cases in different regions:

Tbilisi _ (3410 cases, 87 foreign citizens; 2 undefined); Samegrelo _ 1,216; Imereti _ 1,088; Ajara _ 1,045; Abkhazia _ 536; Kakheti _ 453; Kvemo Kartli _ 521; Shida Kartli _ 346; Guria _193; and Samtskhe-Javakheti _ 124.
